I love to write, but it's hard to get a real writing gig. Imagine how hard it is to become an actor where your success is judgedby your "look" first and your skill second. Triple that difficulty and you'll start to understand the kind of competition and market saturation a wouldbe writer faces. See, while most people know if they have the "look" or not to become an actor, everyone thinks they have something important to say. Moreover, everyone thinks that his or her opinion matters and that other people care for it enough to buy the book. With such blind optimism, who can say we live in cynical times? In the meantime, I need a writing a job. Check out my blog at www.writinginthedark.net |
